Custom Office Bookcase in Nocatee
A custom bookcase can compliment the design of a room and serve as a place to display not only books, but also favorite photographs and art work. Adding doors to deeper base cabinets gives you the opportunity to have concealed file cabinets and storage for other office items such as printers and paper shredders.
Borders Woodworks recently designed, built, and installed a custom maple and poplar office bookcase for the home of a client in the Nocatee community in St. Johns county.
The bookcase has many custom details, from the beadboard on the back surface of the bookcases, to the fluted columns which punctuate the bookcase shelf sections. The base section has shelving, file cabinets and pull outs for office equipment. The doors have magnetic child locks to keep the little ones from making a mess out of its contents.
This custom office bookcase received a glazed cream colored finish, and features a stained maple countertop on the cabinet base of the bookcase.
The bookcase was built and finished over the span of several weeks in our shop in San Marco. Final installation of the custom office bookcase went smoothly, taking about 3 hours to firmly anchor the bookcase to the wall with no visible fasteners.
